Snapshot finding

Jobs filled, quality and retention and local-supplier participation each received seven responses. Completed investment and reduced workforce gaps each received three. At 15 responses, local suppliers led alone with six while jobs received four. The new tie changes the leading position, although no option moved by ten percentage points.

Limitations

This voluntary, non-scientific checkpoint reflects self-selected participants and does not measure Chatham-Kent public opinion, business opinion or worker priorities. A tie does not prove equal importance across the municipality, and the four measures should not be pooled into one economic score.

PUBLIC RECORD

Facts drawn from official public records and linked to the sources below.

  1. 01

The Municipality’s 2025 economic update reports investor inquiries, site-selector delegations, small-business registrations and corporate visits, while also noting that several potential investments were cancelled or delayed.

INTELLISYNC VIEW

The changed lead makes the reporting problem more useful, not less clear. Activity counts should flow into two visible result lines: jobs filled, their quality and retention; and local purchasing that reaches suppliers and small businesses. Both should be reported beside completed private investment, workforce gaps and the public cost of each programme.

ACCOUNTABILITY QUESTION

Which public report will connect each economic-development programme to completed investment, jobs filled and retained, wages, local purchasing, workforce gaps and total public cost?
